The Kops kicked off their season on 8th October with a home match against Wool Spinners in Division 1 of the Dorset League. The fours lost by two points, but the triples did enough on the other mat to ensure a 4-2 (32-29) win.

On the following Monday the Robbers started with a Blackmore Vale Division 5 match at home against the Stalbridge Hawks. These opponents took maximum points off us two years ago on their way to winning the title, so we were delighted to beat them 4-2 (35-33) this time around.

The Kops were up next, and they also faced Stalbridge opponents with the Harriers as visitors. Another 4-2 win, this time by 47-40, kept up the winning start by the club.

Sunday 20th October saw an oddity in the Dorset League fixture lists. The Kops only weekend fixture of the season not only clashed with one of the Robbers two away games on a Sunday, but also saw both teams travelling the furthest East they would play all season. Neither drive home would be particularly pleasant, with the Kops crashing 6-0 (49-18) at Highcliffe Knights, while the Robbers suffered a 4-2 (39-28) loss at Ensbury Eagles.

The Kops had two further games during the same week, unfortunately losing both. A 4-2 (39-32) defeat at home to Hazelbury Barons in Dorset League Division 1, with the triples again being the winning mat, was followed by a 6-0 (43-27) loss at Buckhorn Stags in Division 2 of the Blackmore Vale League.

The last few days of the month saw the Robbers beat West Moors Foxes 4-2 (28-23) at home in the Dorset League, with the triples again being the winning mat - the fours (both Kops and Robbers) have yet to win a point this season in five attempts. This was followed by the Kops return fixture with Buckhorn Stags, just four days after being whitewashed in the away match. This time around matters were very different, with the Kops winning very comfortably 6-0 (54-16) to finish the month with their best result of the season so far.
