ST MARY MAGDALENE CHURCH
Church services are to be cancelled due to work to treat the Death Watch Beetle. The churchyard will remain open.
The work is proceeding as planned However a more significant problem has come to light, with the beam at the division between the Nave and Chancel has been found severely damaged by the Beatle.
We hope to be able to replace the beam but the services will now have to be suspended for longer, please look out for further updates
The church is now regularly open between 10.00a.m - 4.00p.m. every Wednesday and Sunday, but, access can be arranged by prior arrangement at other times. This will also be affected by the work to treat the Beetle see future updates on future opening.
St. Mary Magdalene, is Church of England and dates back to around 1200AD and was restored by the Victorians in 1862..
The church is full of history and has some stunning architecture and contents - the stain glass window behind the alter is a beautiful sight, well worth visiting.
Following the fire on the 15th July 2010, repairs and refurbishments were carried out and there is now a kitchen and toilet facilities. The church reopened on November 2013.
