The Alfred Pochin Award is given to one Society member each year to recognise their outstanding service to the Society. The 2024 recipient of the award is Claire Turner, pictured below
The following awards are given in recognition of artistic achievement and excellence at the Society’s public exhibitions.
The Margaret Newman-Smith Award for best portrait, an engraved Silver-plated rose bowl.
The Jack Ballinger Award given in memory of Jack Ballinger (1944-1992) for architectural interest, a glass vase with engraved decorative panel.
The Michael Fabricant Cup for landscape, a Silver plated cup on a base.
The Len Powell Memorial Prize for the artwork voted for by visitors to the Society spring exhibition, a glass obelisk.
The Gillian Griffin Prize for the artwork voted for by visitors to the Society autumn exhibition, a glass obelisk.
The Sibyl Clark Award for sculpture, a metal Grecian horse on a wooden base.
The John Sanders Award for "best in show", a wood engraving and print by John Sanders, MBE (1917-2003), LSA past President.
The Eilidh Barnardo Award for drawing, a ceramic sculpture on a wooden base.
The Dorothy Godfrey Award with the recipient selected by the Godfrey family, a Silver-plated salver.
The Dorothy Godfrey Cup awarded by a guest artist for best artwork displayed at the LSA Christmas Party, a Silver-plated cup.
The Daphne Gick Award for artwork depicting animals or wildlife, an original framed textile.
The Armour-Brown Painting Award for "best painting in show", a Silver plaque in a wooden frame.
