Tiverton Bowling Club was founded in 1902 and is the oldest club in Tiverton today. The bowling green was initially only two rinks, but gradually increased in size until 1974 when it became six rinks as it is today. In 1977 the present pavilion was built and was opened by the then President of the Devon Bowling Association; Mr J.H Northcott.

The clubhouse has a fully licensed bar and kitchen facilities, along with a comfortable undercover seating area for those days when the weather is a bit gloomy. There are also many comfortable vantage points around the green to enjoy watching all the games in progress, whilst enjoying a glass of wine, a refreshing cold beer, tea or coffee.

We have joined the East-of-Exe, (a mixed league) on a Monday evening and the ladies play on a Thursday evening in the Presidents trophy. Members are able to enter all county competitions through the club.  

New members are always welcome, so whether you’re looking for a friendly social game or a more competitive fixture we can provide the appropriate game and hopefully you will make some new friends too!

As well as the frequent friendly fixtures, the club currently runs inter-club competitions during the season. These are open to all club members and range from exclusive Men’s and Ladies competitions to open tournaments and all day events where members are joined by teams from other local clubs in the area.

We have a qualified coach, who is available for coaching for specific areas of your game or for extra support, for those that feel they would benefit from this.

The club also runs social events, these run all year and include friendly bowls games with other local clubs; which are held at the indoor bowling club, as we do not have indoor facilities. Skittles, bingo, quiz nights and beyond; all of these keep our members and friends in contact throughout the winter months, until we meet again on the green! 

All these events are simply fun events held in a relaxed atmosphere and can be perfect for new members to come along to and get to know the clubs members before joining.
