Peter Hogg

Tritlington and West Chevington Parish Council Peter Hogg

Councillor

Our family has lived in the Parish for 170 years during which time great changes have taken place. Causey Park used to have 2 stone quarries, a clay mine, coal mine, a tile works, joiners, blacksmiths, woodmen, a school, a chapel and an Inn. The last one to go was the Inn but we now have a Cafe.

As can be seen there has been lots going on and I try as a Councillor to help people to continue to develop the area in a way that will help to create a place where people can work and live.

I have also been involved with the National Farmers Union and I am keen to see a prosperous farming environment in our rural community.

The quarries and blacksmiths etc mentioned above contributed to the local economy. Today's contributions come from holiday lets, golf courses, farm shops, caravan sites, motor bike tracks, conversion of redundant farm buildings into work units. The important thing is to make sure each development can be in harmony with everyone and if so then to offer support.
