We are writing to make you aware of a phishing email currently circulating, which may affect residents in your area.

Maidstone Borough Council has been alerted to fraudulent emails asking recipients to provide personal information. These messages, which claim to be from “Parking Services”, are not genuine and are not affiliated with the Council.

We would be grateful if you could help raise awareness within your communities.

Key messages to share with residents:

  • The email is a scam and should be deleted immediately.
  • Do not click any links or provide personal information.
  • If anyone has clicked a link or shared details, they should change their passwords as soon as possible and take appropriate precautions.

The council is investigating this incident in line with the Data Protection Act 2018 and UK GDPR. At this stage, there is no indication of a breach of council systems.
