The speaker booked for our next talk on Tuesday 19th May (Adam Taylor on the islands of the Medway estuary) is now unable to come but we have arranged for Stephen Harmer to give his talk on the history of Sissinghurst Castle gardens instead.
Come and find out about the history of the castle site, the famous creation of the gardens by Vita and Harold Sackville-West and their fascinating lives, ownership by the National Trust and the legacy and influence of the gardens on today’s gardening practices. Stephen is the head gardener at Tonbridge School, he lectures at RHS Wisley and is very well known on the local speaker circuit for his talks.
The talk is at Ulcombe Village Hall. Doors open at 7 for 7.30pm and there is a £4 entry fee for non-members.
