The rain held off and we had the grand opening of the Outdoor Gym Equipment in Caernarvon Park on Wednesday 11th March. The local Health Walk ended their Wednesday walk in the Park so there were plenty of takers to try out the equipment. Members of the Parish Council were in attendance and Sarah Bamford thanked Dave Wilcox for all his hard work in bringing this project to fruition, along with Catherine Crowley (CBC) who organised the installation and Luke Overall from Caloo, the suppliers of the equipment. Also in attendance were Cllr Peter Worsley, Vice Chairman, Cllr Ashley Houlton (also one of the Health Walk leaders), Cllr David Young, Cllr John Wells, Cllr Stephen Gutteridge and Cllr Roger Whyborn. Roger, who is also our Borough Councillor and this year's mayor, cut the ribbon and officially "opened" the gym.

In view of the muddy conditions in the park, we are hoping to extend the special surfacing around the equipment so that it can be more easily accessed, but the hope is that it will be well used by people of all ages and abilities.
