Parish Council Meeting – 7.30 on 8th December 2021
Update for Upper Clatford Parish Council on Legislation around Water Companies river discharging by Christine Colvin, Director for Partnerships and Communications at The Rivers Trust.
You may have heard on the BBC yesterday, that Southern Water have the worst record of any of the Water Authorities on river discharges of effluent. There will be more announcements this weekend.
As a parish, we are very fortunate to have Christine, a Director of the Rivers Trust, as a near neighbour. She coordinated the England wide review of the UK rivers - The State of our Rivers (https://www.theriverstrust.org/key-issues/state-of-our-rivers).
In addition to agreeing to provide the Parish Council with updates on trends and changes in current and planned policy and legislation governing Southern Water’s activities in discharging effluent into our chalk streams, she has agreed to update the Parish Council on the latest developments on legislation going through Parliament.
Christine will speak at 7.30pm for about 15 minutes on the latest legislative developments and then there will be an opportunity for any members of the public or the PC to ask questions.
Due to COVID restrictions, you must register your interest in joining us for this session so the hall can be suitably laid out. E-mail charles.c.eyre@btinternet.com providing your name and the number wishing to attend.
