Urpeth Parish Council is committed to representing the interests of the community and constantly strive to improve our local area and enhance the local environment we live in. We work closely with Durham County Council, community groups, voluntary organisations, police, local businesses and, most importantly, our residents.
We are able to voice our concerns on issues such as highway maintenance, traffic, refuse and policing. We are also consulted on local planning applications and although we can inform the County Council of our views, we cannot approve or reject applications ourselves.
The Parish Council is the level of government closest to the community, if you have any issues you feel may be worth putting to the council , please get in touch and leave your suggestions. The Council is here to serve the community and your opinions are really important to us.
