Victoria Park (Bristol) Bowls Club
Welcome to Victoria Park 2017
About the Bowls Club
Founded in 1909, Victoria Park Bowling Club is situated in South Bristol. We have a club house with bar and an excellent 6-rink green which is privately maintained by the club to a high standard. Membership is open to both men and women and the club currently runs 1 team in a Bristol & District league playing on a Thursday evening, and 1 team in the Bristol & District Triples League on a Friday afternoon. Internal competitions are also arranged, including a Club Triples Tournament held over a weekend in June. Teams are entered in Bristol & District and Somerset Cup competitions and club members also take part in Open tournaments arranged by local clubs.
Mixed friendly fixtures are played every Wednesday afternoon and most Saturday and Sunday afternoons. Club open bowling sessions are every Monday from 1 - 3pm and on a Tuesday evening from 6 - 8pm and after the bowling there is an opportunity for members and friends to meet together in a friendly and convivial atmosphere. Social events are held during the winter months and the club regularly arranges a bowls holiday abroad and weekends away in the UK.
2017 was a good season for the club - very few games were lost to the weather and friendly mixed matches were very competitive. Our trip to Chipping Camden proved an excellent day out for bowlers and their friends.
2018 promises a full programme of games, with the fixture programme being finalised. As always, we will be delighted to welcome new members, either novice or experienced bowlers and please contact one of the committee for further details. It is hoped that the Greens will open on Monday 10th April 2018, depending on the advice of our greenkeeper and kind weather!
