The Parish is being consulted by Hampshire County Council about an application to record a footpath on the Definitive Map, which would have the effect of adding it as a Public Right of Way to the Warnford network. The footpath route, running from Beacon Hill Cottage to the A32, roughly where the 40 limit signs are on the approach to Warnford from the south. This application was made in 2007 and is only now being processed by HCC.

More information, including the map showing the exact route of the footpath, can be found on the website by following this link.

The consultation is solely about evidence, not about whether anyone is for or against the proposal.

If there is evidence that this footpath existed and was open to the public in the past, then the application may succeed.

If anyone in the Parish has evidence such as a memory, or even better a written record, of the footpath’s existence and most importantly whether or not it was open to the public, please let either Derek Chapman or Lucy Hutchinson know by Friday 28th June 2019.
