One disappointment at the start of the outdoor season has been the number of matches that have been cancelled, mostly by our opponents because they've not been able to raise a team. It is not exclusively our opponents who've been to blame, we have been forced to cancel the mixed friendly away to Madeira, Exmouth, on Sunday 5th June due to lack of members making themselves available.

Minehead postponed the A and B team WSBL matches scheduled for Thursday 26th May due to an outbreak of covid at their club. These matches have been rescheduled for Tuesday 14th June at 6.15pm.

The captain of mixed games has reported some difficulties finding teams for away fixtures. Please consider making yourselves available for more matches if at all possible? Next year's fixture list will be dependent on how we get on fulfilling this season's fixtures. As things stand, we are looking at a not insignificant reduction in fixtures.

We also have a large number of competitive matches which need fulfilling, please consider whether you might like to play in some of these? If you are not sure how to go about this, please ask Eddie or one of the captains. Competitive matches are NOT exclusively for good or experienced players and offer an excellent opportunity for less experienced members to improve their skills in a gently competitive, but still enjoyable, environment.

On Monday evenings we play in the East of Exe mixed league. Wednesday afternoons is the Exeter and district over 60s men's triples league. This season we have entered another side, the Leopards, there are still opportunities to play in this if you fancy it, please enter your name on the list in the men's changing room? On Thursday evenings we have three sides of nine players (three triples) in the West Somerset Bowls League, traditionally this is a men's league but is now OPEN to all members. On Saturday's we have two sides of 12 players (3 rinks/fours) in the Somerset County Men's League. Our Ladies play in the West and South Somerset Ladies League. This comprises one rink (fours) at home and one away playing at the same time.
