A brilliant initiative has been set up to raise the awareness of playing bowls from a wheelchair and should make for a fun and interesting weekend.
Ever wondered what it is like playing from a bowls wheelchair?
Know a person who would like to try?
Disability not required!
GIVE IT A GO! DATE: Sat 5th & Sunday 6th August 2017. 10am-5pm VENUE: Isle Of Wedmore Bowling Club. FORMAT: 4 bowl Pairs. Round robin with group winners going into the final stages.
ENTRY : By Mon 24th July 2017 :
NO ENTRY FEE –forms from Paul Brown (see below)
DRESS CODE: Bowls shoes require if standing, otherwise dress code relaxed.
ENTRY REQUIREMENT: Each pair must have at least one person playing from a bowls buggy wheelchair (bowls buggies will be available). No disability required. Any gender, any age. Must have sense of fun. Isle of WedmoreBC is a fabulous location, with good parking, great club facilities. There will be food available to purchase. Expert advice will be available from Disability Bowls England’s Paul Brown who is also Chairman of the British Wheelchair Bowls Assc and 2014 Commonwealth Games Para Bronze Medallist.

There is free parking in the Leisure Centre car park which is immediately adjacent to the Bowling Club. Wheelchair access is via the ramp at the corner of the green where Corams Lane joins Springfield Road.
