Welcome back.

Covid Restrictions will impact how we operate this season.

Somerset Saturday Men’s League matches will not commence until July when we should be out of all Covid Restrictions. The Exeter and District Wednesday Triples Matches also will not commence until July, the first matches will be on Wednesday July 7th, though we are hoping to arrange some friendlies over preceding Wednesdays.

The Thursday league triples we await the outcome of a meeting on Wednesday April 14th.

To get us back into playing competitive bowls Jay has worked hard to arrange some Men’s friendlies. Due to current restrictions we are limited to three rinks on the Green at the same time, so all our friendlies are six rinks, three at Home, three Away against the same club.

Do not be fooled by the term friendlies, they will all be fiercely competed with local club rivalry.

To be considered for selection for the Men’s friendlies please email paulkelly24@btinternet.com for those without internet access we have limited access to the front corridor where you will be able to add your names to the Match Sheets to be considered for selection. We will, as a selection committee, look to be inclusive and give everyone an opportunity to play while we have limited matches to play in.

The first Match is an Early Evening Match against Taunton Vivary on Wednesday April 28 Match starts at 5.45pm.

The early start is to try and play 21 ends before light fades. We then have three Saturday matches in May.

We then play Taunton Deane on Sat 1st May and North Petherton on Sat 8th May. Both 2.30pm start.

All matches in grey trousers/ club shirts, there will be no catering, but the bar may be open. Please remember we will have to make our own way to away matches because, strictly speaking, car sharing is not allowed outside of household or support bubbles.

Enjoy your bowling

Paul
