As part of their centenary celebrations the ROYAL HOUSEHOLD BOWLING CLUB have offered us a RETURN MATCH at Windsor Castle on Saturday 6TH JUNE 2020

They have indicated that they can only cater for 40 people but any extra people could use their facilities but provide their own food.

They are not sure whether they will be able to play 6 rinks but may stretch to seven so we need a minimum of 24 players but could take 28 and sub 4 players at half time.

I had hoped that we could set off early and arrive back late giving us some time to explore Windsor but the coach company said that they would have to employ two drivers and this would significantly increase the cost.

So we have agreed that the bus would leave the club at 9.30am and arrive back at approximately 9pm. So we would arrive in Windsor about 12.30 and the match would start at 2pm arriving back at the club approximately 9pm.

It would be a 52 seater Executive bus and the cost is £800.00 for the day.

So I have priced the trip assuming that we will have 40 people travelling ( i.e. 28 Players and 12 supporters). The costs per person are estimated as follows:

Bus £800 (divided by 40) £20,00

Meal after the game £ 6.00

Total £26.00 per person

Until I have numbers I cannot guarantee the price as fewer people would mean an increase to cover the shortfall. If this happens I will shop around to try to get a smaller bus or seek alternatives such as minibuses and advise everyone on the list accordingly.

Please note that there is no access to visit Windsor Castle from the Bowling Club. If any non playing members would like to spend the day in Windsor to view the town or visit the castle this can be arranged as we have room on the coach.

IMPORTANT

Jay has promised to confirm to the Royal Household Bowling Club whether, or not, we wish to play them so anyone that wants to go should add their name to the list as soon as possible and by November 9th at the latest. If you can't make it to the club but are considering going please email info@wellingtonbowling.club and we'll add your name to the list.
