I've received the following message from the Royal Household's fixture secretary. Please note the cost of meals for the 28 players is £7 per player. £6 for none playing guests (maximum 12 plus the coach driver). I've confirmed this is correct with the RHBC, rather than 24/16 mentioned in the letter. We have asked for 7 mixed rinks.

Please let me know if you'd like a copy of future emails forwarded to you? wbcfixturesecretary@gmail.com

Royal Household BC v Wellington BC on Saturday 6 June 2020 at 2.30pm 7 Rinks Mixed Whites.

Please find attached our letter of confirmation for the forthcoming game. I will contact you again 4 to 6 weeks before the game with entry details and a location map. You may find the note below of use in the meantime.

Many visiting Clubs spend some time in Windsor taking a look around the centre of town and having a bite to eat before arriving at the Club. If you wish to do so, there is a coach park (£20 ish) next to the River 5 mins walk from the centre.

I might suggest that you avoid the Tourist Trap near the Station and walk along the River to the Eton Bridge, then turn right towards the Castle.

If non-players wish to visit the Castle it would be via the Public Entrance in town. There is no direct access from the Bowling Club to the Castle itself.

There is usually ample parking for both cars and coaches within the Castle Grounds 100 yards from the Bowling Clubhouse.

There is a sit-down meal after the game. Players; £7.00 and Guests £6.00. Would you please let me know numbers and of any veg. or gluten free requirements by latest, Monday prior to the Game. Tea and coffee are available throughout the afternoon at a station in the conservatory (no charge).

Sadly, we cannot cater for additional guests as our facility is limited but all are most welcome to sit outside with a picnic if they have it and the sun is shining or in the bar if not, it’s quite cosy in there.

I do not have the security details yet for entry during 2020, but last season security required full names of all participants including the coach driver, coach company’s name and vehicle registration number. We would also like to have the driver’s mobile number in case there are any hiccups.

As you see we have arranged for 7 Rinks and a couple of player changes per rink after ten ends is agreed.

I hope we have everything covered for now. I will contact you again 4 to 6 weeks before the date with entry details and a location map.

The Clubhouse is open at 1pm. You would normally leave at approximately 7.00pm.

Any queries please let me know.

Kind regards

Brian Sprake
