Intermediate Band

Our Intermediate Band meets in the band room room every Thursday from 6.30 pm-7.30 pm.  We are a friendly bunch, made up of people who enjoy playing together as part of an ensemble in a relaxed atmosphere.  This group is ideal for anyone who is currently learning a brass instrument or, perhaps, anyone who has played in the past and would like to dip their toe back in the water once more.  Anyone wishing to join us is very welcome. Beginners' Band

We have recently started a new band for new players.  At present we have around a dozen eager young musicians, who are making great progress.  Again, please contact wellingtonsilverband@gmail.com if you would like to find out more.

 

The Intermediate Band were delighted to be invited to play in a fundraising concert at All Saints Church, Nynehead on Saturday 5th October 2024.

Playing a wide range of styles, the band sounded superb in the ringing acoustics of this beautiful church.  Excellent solos from cornet players Helen and Gareth sang out over the rich harmonies of the middle-voice instruments of Mark, Gabrielle and Kerry, who all played their own features with clarity and confidence.  We are always grateful for the support of players from the main band - on this occasion, Phil on bass and Davina on tenor horn.

Many thanks to all at the church and Nynehead Court for their superb organisation and warm hospitality.  Thank you also to the wonderful young players of High Park Music, who played two thoroughly enjoyable sets of classic hits.
