Background WCS

Home Page Background to WCS

The Shed implementation was also supported by the following:- Heads Up Trustees Management and Staff; The Wells Lions with donations and people support in providing two people experienced in community Organisations Start up, the Shed Founder Members and presentations and advice from Frome Men's Shed.

The objective was to provide a venue in the Heads Up grounds for Wells Community Shed Members to talk and connect with others while participating in-group or individual projects thus counter-acting loneliness, isolation and depression enabling a feeling of self worth.

The  'Shed' provides opportunities for friendship and socialising in a safe environment while at the same time providing space, expertise and facilities for Wells Community Shed Members to pursue hobbies (mainly Woodwork), crafts and other creative activities. The Wells Shed Members will undertake various projects which are of benefit to Wells Community Shed Members, other groups and the broader community.

You can choose a Project from the Project Pages and send us your details from the the Contact Page and/or arrange an appointment to see your selection or just to visit to our Shed. Alternatively you may have a family Heirloom or favourite for Repair and Restoration so again arrange an appointment and bring the item along to us. Other future objectives are to reach out into the Local Community plus work with other community groups in whatever way for mutual benefits.
