Community & Parish News

The Parish Council has published its Camp Hill Report which has been sent to all stakeholders urging them to help with the improvements which are required. A copy of the report can be found here.

We're delighted to report that the new toddler play equipment has been installed in Hunsbury Hill Park, and appears to be proving very popular with our younger residents!

RAIL CENTRAL STRATEGIC FREIGHT HUB PROPOSAL: Mark Redding of the Stop Rail Campaign attended the Parish Council Meeting on Thursday 21st July to make representations to the Council and answer questions. To find out more see their website at www.stoprailcentral.co.uk.

Community Groups are you aware Tesco can provide grants and other assistance to community groups (e.g. grants, raffle prizes etc)?

Tesco awards 6 grants per year in each of the 427 Tesco regions to make sure the funding is spread evenly across England, Wales and Scotland*. In total the Bags of Help programme will support thousands of projects each year.

For more information check out website https://www.groundwork.org.uk/Sites/tescocommunityscheme/Pages/large-grants-tes

Our local Tesco branch at Mereway can also help local community groups with other assistance, such as donating raffle prizes or providing refreshments for community events. For more information contact Alex Cairns, Tesco Community Champion, at <communitychampion2952@gmail.com>

Speedwatch is a volunteer programme organised between Northamptonshire Police, Northamptonshire County Council and Action with Communities in Rural England (ACRE). The programme aims to increase the awareness of the dangers of speeding through education. Drivers detected for speeding receive a Police Warning letter and their records are held to identify any repeat offenders.

For more information see that attached flyer, which contains details on how to set up a scheme in your area.

Community Speedwatch Scheme

Streetwatch is about you and your neighbours working together to keep your area safe. Simply walking around in your own neighbourhood, talking with your friends and neighbours. Street Watch also gives you an opportunity to get involved in other things that will help in your community. Local police will keep in regular contact with Streetwatch members to share information and work with you to keep your area safe. See more information at the link below.
