Annual Parish Meeting

The Annual Parish Meeting is a meeting of the electors of the parish. It is a statutory requirement for every civil parish in England, and must be held between 1st March and 1st June each year. Unlike a parish council meeting, the APM is not a meeting of the parish council, although the council is usually responsible for organising and hosting it unless convened by others.

The APM provides an opportunity for residents to:

  • Receive updates on parish activities, achievements, and issues over the past year.
  • Hear reports from the Parish Council, local organisations, and community groups.
  • Raise questions, share views, and discuss matters affecting the parish.
  • Propose ideas or highlight concerns directly to those involved in local governance.

The meeting is intended to encourage open dialogue and community participation. Any registered elector may speak, ask questions, or submit items for discussion.
