Planned Maintenance - EH922 - A32 Gosport Road, Filmore Hill - Carriageway Resurfacing - Works Notification
West Meon Parish Council
Dear Sir / Madam
EH922 – A32 Gosport Road, Filmore Hill - Carriageway Resurfacing Works
As part of the annual planned maintenance programme, this is to let you know that we will be undertaking carriageway resurfacing works on the A32 Gosport Road, Filmore Hill, between the junction of Three Horseshoes Lane (north of the Meon Hut laybys) to the junction of Fawley Lane.
These works are programmed to start Friday 27th September 2024 at 20:00hrs and are expected to last up to 2 weeks, during which time the road will be closed to through traffic 24 hours each day until the work has been completed.
To confirm, the 24 hour closure for the duration of the scheme is being implemented to allow carriageway edge strengthening to take place, this element of work needs time to cure and therefore means re-opening of the road to traffic is not possible between shifts.
Whilst there is an allowance within the time periods shown above for delays, there may be times when we have to postpone works at very short notice; based on the latest weather forecasts, this can occur just prior to works commencing. Due to the above construction constraints and health and safety implications, even if weather delays mean works don’t take place on specific days, the road will remain closed to traffic. If delays mean the overall programme is likely to extend past the advertised end date, we will advertise this through the information signs on site.
For your safety and that of our workforce, we are unable to guarantee vehicular access to and from your property during the road closure. Should you need to make an essential journey, please contact a member of the workforce on site in advance and they will be able to advise if they can accommodate your request. Pedestrian access will be available at all times.
