SOMERSET OPEN PAIRS 2020

With our bowling very limited this year I am considering holding an Open Pairs competition.

This will be held at Clevedon Bowling Club and played over 3 weekends.

You will be allocated a day to play a round-robin and qualifiers will go through to the final’s day. The exact format will obviously depend on the number of entries.

You may play with any member from any Somerset Club.

I have pencilled in 1st and 2nd, 8th and 9th, 15th and 16th August.

The times played will be a 2-hour session or maximum 15 ends. This will enable us to conform with BE and Government guidelines, with a half-hour break for changeover.

Times of play will be 10am – 12 noon, 12-30pm – 2 – 30 pm and 3pm – 5 pm.

All the dates are Saturday and Sunday, so this will enable as many members to play as possible.

I would be asking £2.00 per player, or donation please to cover the cost of any expenses Clevedon BC would incur i.e. sanitizers etc.

Any surplus I would plan to go to NHS charities.

Depending on any future instructions from Government, bars may be open, however at this time please bring any refreshments you require, as no food will be provided.

I would ask every member to act according to the guidelines and keep social distancing at all times.

If we have a good response it will be on a first-come basis. I will take any money on the day to make things simpler, however, if you find you cannot play after entering please let me know as there may be someone who would like to.

This is just an outline, and depending on your response I may have to change the format.
