WSBL AGM- Summary
West Somerset Bowls League
Here is a summary of the AGM held at North Pethetrton on Tuesday 12th Oct.
Roland Bath (Wellington) resigned as chairman before the meeting, Don Bridges (Burnham-on-Sea) agreed to chair the meeting and will take on the role of acting chairman until the 2022 AGM. John Swayne (North Petherton) agreed to be acting vice-chairman until the 2022 AGM. We will be looking for WSBL players keen to take on these roles on a permanent basis ahead of the 2022 AGM. Roland has been the chairman since 2013 and the meeting asked for our thanks to Roland to be noted in the minutes.
Item 9.1 was carried; the league will remain open to ladies next year.
Item 9.2 was carried; clubs are invited to offer some form of food after the match. Clubs unable to offer catering should advise their visitors one week before, similarly, away teams who would rather not hang around after the match should give their hosts one week’s notice that they do not wish to be offered after match catering.
Item 9.3 vote 1 was carried. It was agreed that clubs have until the 27th January 2022 to confirm how many teams they are entering next year. The fixture list will be issued two weeks later. If all clubs have confirmed how many teams they are entering before then I will endeavour to produce the fixture list earlier (within two weeks of the last club confirming the number of teams they are entering).
Item 9.4- It was agreed we will not play on Bank Holiday Thursday 2nd June 2022. The league will start on Thursday 19th May ending on Thursday 4th August.
Clubs still to confirm how many teams they are entering next year are- Minehead, Taunton (Vivary), Watchet and Williton (will confirm after their AGM).
