Everything we do is to tell the story of God.
We are very passionate about telling the story of God. About what he has done for us through Jesus and how that has affected our lives. Below is a very short version of that story we are trying to tell.
Jesus is a man who lived 2000 years ago, but He is more than a man, He is also God. Jesus is the second person of the Trinity. Christians believe that God is one God in three persons, the Father, Son and Holy Spirit. One God who is of one substance and being, but three persons. The Bible says that 'In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God. All things were made through him, and without him was not any thing made that was made. In him was life, and the life was the light of men." John 1:1-3.
We have all stuffed up. I know this, you know this and our friends and family know this. The Bible calls this stuff sin. Now God is perfect, He can not be near sin for He is ultimate love, and sin is the opposite of that. But because He is ultimate love, He loves each and every one of us, regardless of anything.
God knew we would get it wrong but He still created us and loves us. So Jesus came to earth, really man and really God. The perfect person who never sinned. When Jesus was crucified He took on all my sin and all your sin upon himself. Paying our price for the things we have done wrong so we can have a renewed relationship with the Father and have the perfect and unending love, acceptance, joy, and peace that God gives.
Lets be honest, if Jesus just dies, thats a pretty rubbish ending. Nice story but we all die in the end don't we? The thing is Jesus didn't stay dead. All throughout Jesus' ministry on earth he was talking about how he would destroy the temple and rebuild it in 3 days and how he would be gone for a while and then come back. Jesus was talking about his resurrection. Because Jesus was the perfect man, never sinning, death couldn't hold him. The Bible says that the price of Sin is death, but he never sinned. And because Jesus rose from the dead and is now alive and with the Father, he has defeated death and sin for us all. Now we do still have death and sin and sickness but the hope that we have in Jesus is that this life isn't it, there is more. More to have in life now and an eternal life of complete joy and love to come.
Pray. Read. Live.
Pray - Take time to pray and ask for forgiveness for your sins and for Jesus to come into your life by the power of the Holy Spirit.
Read - Read the Bible. The Bible is God's word to us. It speaks to us about the life and words of Jesus, the things God has done for His people over thousands of years and how we can become more like Jesus day by day.
Live - the Christian faith is a lifestyle not just a belief. Yes it starts from believing in God and accepting Him into our hearts. But is is about living life 24/7/365 for God. Making the most of every opportunity to show and tell others about the love of Jesus and allowing ourselves to be shaped by him.
