The much loved Pier to Pier Way is set to benefit from new funding to help more people get active
The popular walking, cycling and horse-riding route links Clevedon and Weston-super-Mare. It's been a huge success since it opened, with more than 125,000 trips recorded in just 18 months!
National Highways has provided additional funding to support community engagement activities, encouraging more people to use the route.
The new funding will support:
free adult cycle training
eight guided health walks in May as part of North Somerset Walk Fest
Dr Bike sessions for free bike checks and maintenance
opportunities to try e bikes and accessible trikes
new free volunteer ride leader training in Clevedon
If you're interested and keen to help other people build their confidence on a bike, please email sustainable.travel@n-somerset.gov.uk
Plus coming up this Saturday (9 May) as part of Clevedon Cars and Coffee, you can refresh your cycling skills, try e bikes and accessible trikes, and get your bike serviced for free. These activities will be in The Hawthorns car park.
And don't worry if you can't make it this weekend, Strawberry Line Cycle Project offer free refresher cycle training for adults - email strawberrylinecafe1@gmail.com to find out more
