Winchester Food Partnership is committed to protecting and respecting your privacy.  This policy explains when and why we collect personal information about people who visit our website, how we use it, the conditions under which we may disclose it to others and how we keep it secure.

This policy applies to anyone that uses the Winchester Food partnership website, Facebook page or signing up to our mailing list.  By using any of these sites you’re agreeing to be bound by this policy.

Who are we?

Winchester Food Partnership is a cross-sector partnership of organisations and individuals who have come together to create a health and sustainable food culture for people living and working in the Winchester District, regardless of income. 

How do we collect information from you?

We obtain information about you when you use our website, Facebook page or sign up to our mailing list.

What type of information is collected from you?

The personal information we collect might include your name, address, email address, IP address, and information regarding what pages are accessed and when.  We will never ask for any personal sensitive data.  On our sign up form we only ask for your postcode in order for us to ensure we are reaching the whole of Winchester district.

How is your information used?

We may use your information to:

  • send you communications which you have requested and future projects or campaigns that may be of interest to you.
  • seek your views or comments;
  • notify you of changes.

We review our retention periods for personal information on a regular basis. We will only hold your personal information on our systems for as long as is necessary for the relevant activity, including any statutory obligations, or as long as is set out in any relevant contract you hold with us.

At any time, you can unsubscribe from our communications by clicking the unsubscribe button on the bottom of our emails.

Who has access to your information?

We make sure that appropriate controls and processes are in place to ensure we take good care of your information.  However, the transmission of information over the internet is never completely secure and as a result, while we strive to protect your personal information, WFP cannot guarantee the security of any information you transmit to us, and you do so at your own risk. Once we receive your data, we make every effort to try to ensure its security both on our systems and while in transit between our systems.

All staff who have access to your personal data understand the importance of keeping your information safe and secure at all times.

You have a choice about whether or not you wish to receive information from us. If you will only receive direct marketing communications from us about the vital work we do and our exciting products and services, then where you have selected to do so by ticking the relevant boxes.

We are concerned to protect the privacy of children aged 16 or under. If you are aged 16 or under‚ please get your parent/guardian’s permission beforehand whenever you provide us with personal information.
