WOLSINGHAM PARISH COUNCIL

MINUTES OF   MEETING  HELD

TUESDAY 8TH  JANUARY   2019  

6.30 PM TOWN HALL, WOLSINGHAM

 

PRESENT:    Chair: D. Sugden, Mrs. Y. Bell,   J. Norman,  S. Palombella, ,Mrs. A. Nelson,

  1. APOLOGIES FOR ABSENCE: K. Tippins, J. Wilson, Mrs. A. Savory
  2. BUDGET/ PRECEPT SETTING 2019/ 2020 : The updated figures were considered and agreed to raise a precept of £29580, which was marginally  lower than the previous precept, making a Band D property charge of £30.22 for the year.
  3. TO RECEIVE QUESTIONS FROM MEMBERS OF THE PUBLIC: It had been reported that a hypodermic needle wrappers and tin foil and an empty wrap had been discovered in the Angate Street toilets. Clerk to inform police and ask for a “ Sharps disposal containershould further usage be discovered.
  4. DECLARATIONS OF INTEREST: None
  5. MINUTES OF  MEETING HELD 11TH DECEMBER  2018 agreed and signed as a true record
  6. MATTERS ARISING. The drain at the West End of the recreation field where foul and surface water had been mixed was still  being investigated by the Environment Agency.
  7. CORRESPONDENCE: Draft Response Information Commissioner, agreed without amendment.

Mr. J. Bell letter 1st January 2019 , a draft response to both letters was considered and amended where necessary and agreed.

          8 RECREATION GROUND:  Skate Park update, a project manager had been appointed and a meeting with the contractor would be  held , Thursday 17th January at the Town Hall. A decision on the funding from North Pennines and Dales Leader was expected on 22nd January , if grant funding awarded , work would commence on the skate park as soon as possible. and be completed by Easter.   

            9 Parish Council Policy re :Policy for Managing Habitual and/ or  Vexatious Complaints, consideration was given to the draft policy and agreed.

           10 MEMBERS REQUESTS: A member raised concerns on the poor lighting in the Primary school yard and the increasing number of pot holes. Agreed to write to the Head teacher , Mrs.. Kitchin and the Education Dept. at Durham C.C., highlighting  these concerns
