Details
A long weekend away in the Gower Peninsula, Wales. Eastern Slade Barn is a converted 15th century farmhouse recently awarded 5 stars by Visit Wales. It is on a working dairy farm near the sea and the Gower coastal path runs through the farm. The barn has a well equipped kitchen with a large cooker, gas hob and electric oven, two fridge freezers and an extra fridge...! There is a cosy lounge with leather sofas and a wood burning stove. The accommodation sleeps 13 in four bedrooms. The farm will provide fresh sheets, pillows and pillow cases and you are invited to bring your own sleeping bags or duvet covers (duvets are available). Bring your own towels. Accommodation website: https://easternsladebarngower.co.uk/
Eastern Slade Barn's land becomes part of the Wales Coastal Path which was opened on 5th May 2012 and is 870 miles of coastal footpath linking Monmouth in the South to Flintshire in the north. Walking north through the farmyard the Barn's land becomes some of the bridleways and cycleways that form a network of traffic free lanes across Gower.
The Gower has glorious beaches (Britain's best beach 2013, Rhossili bay, is not far away!) and castles to explore. Oxwich Bay which is about 20 minutes walk east has a castle, beach and a hotel with bar and meals.
