Northumberland Green Villages Challenge
9:30am – 5:30pm
Details
The Northumberland Association of Local Councils (NALC) invites residents, councillors, and community groups to take part in the first Northumberland Green Villages Challenge — a county-wide day of environmental action and celebration.
Working alongside local parish and town councils, volunteers will help plant native trees, sow wildflower meadows, and install wildlife boxes to support biodiversity in their local parks, greens, and community spaces.
The initiative is part of NALC’s ongoing commitment to sustainability and local climate action, empowering councils and communities to make tangible improvements in their own neighbourhoods.
Participants are encouraged to bring gloves, spades, and a good dose of enthusiasm! Each participating council will provide light refreshments, with family-friendly activities and children’s nature trails running throughout the day.
