Ruddington and District Choral Society Spring Concert
An evening of music by John Rutter
This uplifting concert will be a celebration of one of our most popular living composers, Sir John Rutter, who marked his 80th birthday in 2025. The choir will perform two of his inspiring choral works, Gloria and Magnificat. Alongside this, will be a selection from Rutter’s collection and arrangement of traditional folk songs, his cycle The Sprig of Thyme. These delightful songs resound with the joy, wistfulness and nostalgia for times past with a mix of familiar songs, alongside less well-known pieces.
The programme will be a charming and varied selection from this major figure in the composition and arrangement of popular choral music. The choir will be accompanied by Michael Overbury on organ and piano and joined by a soprano soloist.
The concert will take place at St Jude’s church in Mapperley, which is a new venue for the choral society, due to the organ at Ruddington St Peter’s church not being available. St Jude’s offers an accessible and welcoming venue for audience and performers alike.
You are warmly invited to join us on Saturday 16th May 2026 7.30pm at St Jude's Church, Mapperley NG3 5HE.
Tickets are currently available on this website, or from Catherine on 07931 633472.
