The Reckoning House

Built on a farm in Haddon Grove, The Reckoning House sits on the Lathkill Dale National Nature Reserve in the beautiful Peak District.

The Reckoning House has been renovated to a high standard including double glazing and insulation. It is situated on the edge of Lathkill Dale, 3 miles from Bakewell. Lathkill Dale is a nature reserve managed by English Nature to protect a variety of flora and fauna as well as some outstanding geological features. Cycle hire is available locally. There are also many local walks including the Limestone Way.

It has a cooking area, 4 calor gas rings (gas supplied), a washing up sink with hot water, a toilet, wash basin, storage heaters in all rooms and shower inside the barn. Upstairs there are two separate rooms with 12 (2x6) bunk beds. Please bring you own sleeping bags. The hostel is dog friendly by arrangement.

Directions:
GR 184 666. Take the B5055 out of Bakewell towards Monyash. Continue for 3 miles. After passing Haddon Grove Farm holiday cottages (the second set of cottages on right), take the first turn left at the signpost to Haddon Grove. Bear left at the bottom of the lane. The bunkhouse is the first on the left in a half mile.
