The Long Buckby Community Centre is looking for a part time Caretaker/General Maintenance to look after the building and ensure that it remains in perfect condition for the community users.

As our Caretaker/General Maintenance you will be responsible for the security of the site. Locking up the building at the end of the day, key/fob holding, setting of security systems and undertake regular security checks to identify security risks. Part of the role is to monitor the fire safety equipment and carry out and assist with fire drills. You will be able to respond to alarm systems where appropriate and report on any maintenance issues that need attention. Experience of floor polishing is an advantage, but training can be provided where necessary. You will also undertake regular site inspections and identify any repair and maintenance requirements. You will be responsible for ordering supplies and coordinate deliveries to the site. A key part of the role is to assist in safety audits of the premises to ensure that we maintain safe and satisfactory conditions.

We are looking for someone who has a flexible attitude and has the ability to work without direct supervision and who can undertake general maintenance and upkeep of equipment. A knowledge of Health and Safety procedures along with COSHH regulations would be advantageous. The role is to take over from our current Caretaker/General Maintenance who is retiring shortly and full training will be provided. The role is for approximately 15-25 hours per week initially but may increase in the future. The contract will be fixed for 15 and then any additional hours can be claimed as overtime.
