Applications are invited for the post of Clerk/Responsible Financial Officer for Sutton Maddock Parish Council to commence as soon as possible. Sutton Maddock is a small rural parish located between Telford and Bridgnorth.
You will be responsible for preparation of agendas, taking minutes, dealing with correspondence, liaising with contractors and Local Government Officials, managing of accounts to include keeping of cash book, bank reconciliations, preparation of budgets, VAT returns, PAYE, organising audits etc, administration of the Parish Council website. You will have responsibility for ensuring correct procedures are followed and advising the Parish Council to ensure that it acts within its powers. Applicants should have IT skills and experience in financial accounting/budgeting preparing agendas and minutes, and ideally should have previous experience working as a Parish Clerk and hold the CiLCA qualification, or equivalent.
The salary is based on 3 hours per week and will be calculated according to the Nation Joint Council rates dependent upon qualifications and/or experience but will be within the LC1 SCP 15-17 (£8.717-£10.632 per hour) range, with mileage reclaimable at 0.45ppm.
Attendance is required at the Parish Council Meetings held in the evening once every 2 months (held on a Thursday at Norton Village Hall), and at other ad hoc special meetings arranged as necessary throughout the year.
