OUR VILLAGE NEEDS NEW PARISH COUNCILLORS
“What has the Parish Council ever done for us?” (with apologies to Monty Python's Life of Brian)
“Well… quite a lot actually.”
And that’s exactly the problem — we now need a few more people to help keep it going.
Right now, a small group of volunteers keeps our Parish Council running — but we need more people to join us so the council can continue to meet and make decisions for the village.
Without enough councillors, Buckland Dinham risks losing its local voice and its village funding.
- Meet 9 times a year
- Discuss local issues affecting the village
- Work with organisations like highways, policing and local authorities
- Help support village facilities and community projects
That’s it.
No special knowledge needed.
No politics.
Just local people helping their community.
❌ You do NOT need:
- previous council experience
- legal or planning knowledge
- lots of spare time
✅ You DO need:
- to live locally
- common sense
- an interest in the village
Why people join
- To protect what makes Buckland Dinham special
- To meet neighbours
- To make a real difference locally
Many councillors say they wish they’d joined sooner.
