Speed Watch Volunteer
Details
Now that the light mornings and evenings are nearly with us the Speedwatch team will be out again monitoring the speed of the vehicles on some of the Collingham roads. Last year we registered 80 vehicles exceeding the 30mph limit in our village, 23 of those were over 40mph with a maximum of 46mph. It was also recorded that 20% (16) were residents of Collingham which is very disappointing. Now that the Community Park has been upgraded we will be stepping up the campaign on Swinderby Road as the number of attendees at the Park has increased and we need to make sure that are safe from speeding vehicles. We need some more volunteers, please do a few hours a month. We need a minimum of two per session, (we already have two husband and wife teams). Training is given and you will be insured under the Parish Council insurance and equipped with Hi Viz jackets. If you are interested then please contact the Parish Clerk
