At our General Meeting on 2/3/23 we discussed the Pitch Fee Review.

Members voted unanimously that a 13.4% increase is unjustified and gave the committee the thumbs up to try and negotiate a lower increase. There are varying degrees of success with negotiating. Sometimes site owners feel that negotiating a lower increase is preferable to having to take 100s of residents to a tribunal individually.

We will report back to residents by 13 March. In the meantime you don’t need to do anything.

If we are able to negotiate a lower increase we will let everyone know. Then it’s up to individuals if they accept it. If they don’t accept it then individual residents will need to drop a letter to Royale saying so. Royale would then need to apply to a tribunal to determine if their increase is fair. In the meantime residents would need to continue paying the current amount.

If Royale won't negotiate and presses ahead with 13.4%, we will also let you know. Then it’s up to individuals if they accept it. If they don’t accept it then individual residents will need to drop a letter to Royale saying so. Royale would then need to apply to a tribunal to determine if their increase is fair. In the meantime residents would need to continue paying the current amount.

-As long as we carry on paying the current pitch fee we aren’t doing anything wrong by withholding an increase and we can’t be penalised.

-Allowing a tribunal to decide if an increase is fair is a perfectly normal process and very common too.
