Dear Colleague
Back in 2016 many Rutland people participated in meetings about reorganising health services for Rutland and I wrote to you personally at that time via Healthwatch inviting you to those discussions about the STP.
Many questions were raised but we had not heard further until a new document called " Next Steps" was published in August 2018 and will return to Rutland on Monday 19th November 2018.
Unfortunately this coincided with refusal by the Clinical Commissioning Groups (CCGs) to consult the public on the closure of a substantial part of Leicester General Hospital after being asked to do so by the three local authority scrutiny committees last month.
This has raised grave concerns so a group of local residents involved in health matters have written to the local newspapers urging people to get involved in these plans and meet the CCG on 19th November .
A copy of our letter is attached for your information together with the questions asked in 2016/7. We do hope you will use your networks to publicise this meeting and urge people to attend. Kathy Reynolds has kindly agreed to respond to any queries you have about the letter.
