The pandemic may have caused disruption to all aspects of our lives but on a sunny afternoon in September, Councillors Glenna Favell and Vikki Cook, were delighted to present the winners of this year's allotment competition with their awards.

Cherry Gardens received the highest scores with awards presented for the best large plot to Mr Henson; best small plot to Mr Arthur. The runners up in these categories were awarded to Mr Mellor & Mrs Lawson. Judges special awards were awarded to Mrs Payne at Virgins Croft & Mr Scott at Watch Oak.

The judges commented on the imaginative and diverse use of space, the extensive range and mix of both edible produce and flowers, and the attention to using recycled materials over plastics.

If you are interested in an allotment and would like some more information please contact the Assistant Town Clerk via email to enquiries@battletowncouncil.gov.uk or telephone the office on 01424 772210.
