Opening Day 2026 went ahead as planned despite early rain and a sharp chill in the air. It was the traditional agenda for such events but everyone always seems to enjoy it and this year was no exception. Proceedings from the Spider were donated to the charity chosen by Mick Wilson, a popular member who died very recently. As usual it was a struggle for even the best players to find their line and length after months indoors or resting but most got there in the end. An excellent turnout got the season off to a splendid start.
