Despite the current difficulties, the parish team have been working away to secure trees for planting in autumn around the village as part of our green campaign initiative.

We have applied for and had confirmed an order of 420 trees. They are a mix of hazel, blackthorn, crab apple, dog rose, elder, rowan, downy birch, hawthorn, holly and goat willow. These will be planted as hedging along the Dinghy Storage Park boundary at the Southern Quay, the boundary with the Airfield at College Playing Fields and a number of other locations across the village. This will be the first stage in the project with further planting taking place later.

We hope, as we get nearer to the autumn, to call out for volunteers to help with planting and especially hope to engage young people to take part in this. If you would like to get involved, please contact the office.
