Ebdon Farm is secured for nature

I am thrilled to be able to share some very exciting news with you today: Avon Wildlife Trust has secured £5 million for Ebdon Farm!

You may have noticed things have been quiet while our team worked behind the scenes on a funding application. I’m delighted to tell you that we have been successful.

With this generous grant from The National Lottery Heritage Fund, our vision of a climate resilient future for wildlife, farming and people has taken a huge leap forward. We can now start to create wetland habitats and a community nature reserve, demonstrating nature’s recovery at scale.

As you may remember, this site was acquired on our behalf by the Esmée Fairbairn Foundation, with a two-year window to raise the funds needed to take full ownership. This new grant from the Heritage Fund secures the farm for Avon Wildlife Trust and gives us the green light to begin making our plans a reality.

Since March 2025, we've been busy learning about the land and working with you all to co-create our plans for the first phase of the project. This new funding will allow us to start, creating a space where wildlife and people can thrive together. You can read more about our findings from the previous phase and our plans for Ebdon Farm on our website.

For those of you that live locally, we’ll be keeping in touch to let you know about timelines for carrying out work at the site. We’re currently aiming to begin work in Spring 2027, depending on planning application outcomes. Our neighbours and supporters will be kept updated by a dedicated member of staff.
