A Breath of Fresh Air

With Spring on its annual wakeup sequence, time to now breath in the fresh air, listen to nature, take deep breaths of calm.

This is not that easy to accomplish after two years of Covid calamity. Many of us have experienced true hardship that will take years to re-set, if at all. If nothing else this is where our natural world can take the lead. A walk through the local woods, footpaths and open space around Burghwallis reflects that our lives can endure and once again flourish. Those dark days locked deep in the memory need to be slowly joined by a new influx of positives. A chance to breath all this in – instead of Covid nasties.

Bluebells, wild garlic, and spotted orchids emerge to blink in the spring sunshine.
