Oakley's game against Andover (pictured) this morning in the Tony Allcock Trophy, for players over 60, began after heavy rain overnight but in dry weather, and it was the visitors from Andover that made the better start, leading 10-4 after after 5 ends. Oakley rallied and, at half way, held a narrow 2 shot lead but the game was very much in the balance and at 11 ends there was still only 5 shots between the teams. However a 7 for the rink of Fred Norris, followed by a 4 for Kay Kerley's rink swung the game in Oakley's favour and at 15 ends, by which time heavy rain was falling, Andover conceded the match.

Scores: Mary Varndell, Spencer Kerley, Janie Vickers and Fred Norris won 22 - 8; Sue Dixon, Malcolm Grime, Graham Tompkins and Kay Kerley lost 12 - 14.
