I am pleased to have received the following update about a permanent drainage solution to alleviate the flooding on the A5 at Kiln Cottage from Highways England via Councillor Adam Brown

A scheme has now been developed and we have approval from the Delivery Board to move this scheme into the program.
The scheme has now been passed forward for design and we are currently programming the work for delivery in quarter 3 next financial year (October to December 2017). We do understand the pressure to get this scheme completed as soon as possible and will look at ways to accelerate the work sooner if the opportunity allows.
In the meantime, our inspectors/drainage will continue to monitor the site closely to take immediate action to reduce the risk of water on the carriageway during periods of heavy rain. However, if in the event of immediate action required eg flooding then you would need to continue to ring Highways England Information Line on 0300 123 5000 so that they can arrange for urgent attendance to sort out the issue.
