    The A61 near the garden centre at the top of Moor Road was closed for a while yesterday evening (Monday) after a collision believed to have involved a car and a motorbike. The accident happened near the lay-by about 300 yards from the Bishop Monkton crossroads in the Wormald Green direction. North Yorkshire Police described the collision as 'serious''. The extent of any injuries is not yet known. This incident is the latest in a series of accidents on the A61 between Ripley and Ripon in recent years.
