As many residents will be aware, Battle Town Council has unfortunately experienced break-ins during the COVID-19 lockdown period which has had a huge effect on the upkeep of the town. As much of the equipment was stolen, our wonderful grounds team are temporarily unable to carry on with the upkeep of our beautiful cemetery and other facilities around the town.

To prevent further theft, Battle Town Council have undertaken a number of security measures including the locking of the cemetery gates. We understand the importance of continued access to the cemetery grounds throughout these unprecedented times and would like to confirm that the cemetery remains open for vehicular access between 7am and 4pm Monday and Tuesday; 7am and 3pm Wednesday to Friday.

Whilst the side gate allows pedestrian access outside of staff hours, we are currently unable to confirm when the main gates will be reopened.
