It has been many years since tea was taken in the clubhouse at Broadgate but yesterday in a friendly match against Concordia they were seen again. A variety of sandwiches (coronation chicken, tuna, egg, cheese ,and ham), pork pie, scotch eggs, and award winning sausage rolls were available and to follow cakes (scones with cream and strawberry, battenburg, eccles, coffee and lemon sponge) . Tea or coffee and squash completed the afternoon tea which everyone enjoyed and they were asked to take home as there was too much! The tea's were prepared by my wife Donna and she was ably assisted by Yvonne and many thanks have been extended by the all on the day.. The match went our way with a victory score of 59-34 shots and saw the debut of Charlotte who will be joining us as a player. Only a shower stopped play for 15 minutes but the rest of the match we were in sunshine. The photos show what an enjoyable day was had and the spirit in which the match was played.

We have a return match in August and Presidents day where tea's will be taken again..
