We counted the votes for our AGM this morning. Two committee members were there to count them. We also asked our resident Joy Darch to help us. Since Joy works in the Basildon Council Election Office, she made sure we did everything the right way.
How People Voted?
A few weeks ago, we gave out voting forms to all 181 member homes. Here are the final numbers:
Number of Member Votes: 105
Turnout: 58%
The Rule: Our rules say we need at least 20% of members to vote for it to count. Because 58% voted, the results are official.
Election of the Committee
Our rules say that at least 50% of the people who voted must agree to the new committee.
We are happy to say that 100% of the votes were "Yes."
The following people are now elected to the committee from March 2026 to March 2027:

The £5 membership (Motion) Passed
For a change like chagring a fee, our rules say that two-thirds (66.7%) of the people who voted must agree.
The Motion: Change from free membership to £5 a year membership fee.
The Result: 100% of the votes were "Yes." This means the fee is now part of our constitution.
What happens next: We will send letters to every home in the next few weeks. These letters will tell you how to pay your £5 so you can stay a member for the 2026–2027 year.
