Aiming for the National Finals
Aiming for the National Finals
As the season progresses Crediton Bowling Club members are rushing to the green to play in friendly matches, league matches and knockout competitions that can possibly lead to the National Finals held annually at Leamington Spa. There is so much going on at present that I apologise for any that I have missed out as it comes towards the end of the events in Section 4. Here is a list of members going through to compete in the Devon Finals Days
Ladies 4 Wood. Liz Smerdon
Ladies 2 Wood. Nikki Payne
Ladies Triples. Amy Simpson, Helen Ellis and Liz Smerdon (this group have already qualified for the National Finals so we wish them lots of luck)
Ladies Fours. Amy Simpson, Helen Ellis, Nikki Payne and Liz Smerdon
Senior Fours. Carol Haywood, Sue Grigg, Maggie Chaplin and Chris Marshall
Senior Singles. Chris Marshall (through to Regional Finals Day)
Mens Top Club. Final v Exonia
Mens Fours. Richard Gunn, Alan Gibb, Richard Ellis and Mark Theedom
Mixed Pairs. Amy Simpson and Chris Bond through to Section Final
Mixed Triples. 3 of the quarter finalists are from Crediton
The success shows the strength that the Club has but anyone wishing to try their hand should not be put off as all new members are encouraged. It is a game that all can play to whatever standard you are able. The green will be full of many experienced and inexperienced bowlers from Monday 8th August as the annual Industrial Bowls takes place for two weeks so come along and watch the action every evening.
